Yeah! Glad you are back. Tmi: what’s the dumbest thing you’ve ever done to accidentally hurt yourself?

*giggle* I’m listening to Episode 8 and just as I am about to post a message, there you are reading my comment! (note regarding food: if I came to Texas, it would be with my wonderful husband who unfortunately has all sorts of food allergies, the worst of which is onions! I suspect that most of food you mentioned [and chili for him has to be WITHOUT BEANS—he just doesn’t like beans] contains onions.)
Anyway, the REAL reason for this comment is (1) glad you finally posted another podcast; the comments you read from me still stand. 🙂 and (2) IT’S ALL YOUR FAULT! I’m now a RABID SJ TUCKER FAN!! Yup, because you play her music, I had to go find out just who this wonderful musical person is, and also Tricky Pixie. (I have their poster on the wall above my computer now). Well, the result of your instigation is that I went on a web search, found out about Sooj, and Tricky Pixie, and found out that Alec is the male voice, he who once was Heather, my favorite Bard (I use that word with deep meaning, too.) So I look at their upcoming performances, and I find out they are performing at a science fiction convention down in Pasco, in the Tri-Cities area of Southeast Washington. Hmm. Pasco. When is this? Oh, President’s weekend. Oh John! (My husband.) Want to go to a small con in Pasco in about 6 weeks? He agrees. I show him their website and all the gaming stuff they are going to have (he is a gamer, D&D, Magic the Gathering, etc.) He’s hooked. Later I confess the REAL reason I want to go—there’s this concert….
So anyway, we drive there, the Weather Gods are VERY kind to us, no snow in the passes on our way (and only the first hints on our way back). The convention was quite good. And the Tricky Pixie concert was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Wow. WOW. I am now a REAL FAN; I also got to talk to Sooj, and Betsy and Alec. (Very interesting, and oddly reassuring, conversations with Alec.) My wonderful husband let me buy ALL of SJ’s CDs, and the Tricky Pixie CD. (He let me do this because I let him buy this very cool brown leather hat with a dark green band, from Victor, the guy who’s best known for his custom fangs.)
As I said, the concert was amazing. It was also fun for us who came in before the start to watch and listen to all the setup procedures. The three definitely have a shared sense of wicked humor, along with all the wonderful musicality. And wow (I keep saying that, don’t I?), talk about raising Power! For the time I was in that room, I was in another universe. Whew. Energy, deep sense of mythic source and power and so on. Some interesting things happened. There were times when Alec was the main voice/performer and I could still see Heather, especially in body language. It was very weird at times, but yet not disturbing as I was sort of afraid it might be. And then there was Betsy and her cello. I swear there were times when I heard another human voice singing behind Sooj and Alec (Betsy doesn’t sing, at least not in concert). Then I’d do a double take as I realized I was hearing the cello. I told Betsy this after the concert and she really appreciated that. Definitely Magical (or Magickal).
And one other thing about Radcon: I bought a very nice pentacle pendant with a Triple Moon (and an amethyst for the moon—I love purple you see) from one of the vendors. (I also bought a number of other cool things from several of the vendors).
So now John and I have another good convention to go to, and I am totally hooked on SJ Tucker and Tricky Pixie. And it’s all your fault! ;-D
P.S. Very good advice about coming out as Pagan.

Hi! I just wanted to stop by and say that I really enjoyed Ep. 8. And also that I love your show – you two crack me up. I started listening to your show toward the end of November, after Tommy Elf over at From the Edge of the Circle mentioned your podcast on his show. At first I thought, “I live in Iowa – why do I care about pagans in Texas?” but I’m very glad I tuned in, and I quickly downloaded all of your shows. Glad you made it back after your surprise January off. (Also, I think your recording quality is fab.) And now I’m going to have to go acquire me some Mythcreants …

An interesting question that popped into my mind while listening to episode 5 with raven –
Those Christians who are ignorant to what Wicca is weather through the news media, or just never having it properly explained to them, made me think, Should they(Christians) stop and think they, wouldn’t need to act out, by slashing tires or throwing rocks, as in their eyes we would be going to hell?
I mean to Christians that is the ultimate punishment, right? So why do they feel the need to act out instead of accepting the fact that we’ve accepted a different religion, and in their eyes, accepted to go to hell?
Probably not worded the best as it is quite late/early but should get the point across, but probably quite crudely.

What if you parents, along with not being able to figure out how to, properly, respond, might be slightly offended by the fact that you didn’t tell them in person and instead chose to use a note?
Just an idea 🙂

Well, I actually know my parents very well (this is by no means the first big or serious issue that has come up between us). I can see where you’re coming from, but I know they are not offended. This is actually the standard form of communication in my family (notes have gone both ways). If I hadn’t been so physically ill and able to tell them (and believe me, I tried) that would have been the most unusual way to communicate.
