Hey there lovely listeners!
In this episode we explore the world of male Wiccans, and decide if they have a plight or not, if the matriarchy is making the same mistakes the patriarchy is making, and how men in general feel. We tried get a REAL Wiccan man on the show, but they all had to work, so we gave our male perspective. (Basically, we just repeated our husbands gripes and talked about them.) We also had the lovely Ms. Aesa on the show talking about public resources for those learning the pagan path. As always we had your comments and dates for the calendar:
March 19th Emerald Dragon Ostara Arlington uniterian church 6
March 22nd Fort Worth Witches Meetup

Renny! Wait, no, I'm not - I'm Aesa... lol

You may not need a passport to get to Canada, but you definitely need one to get back into the U.S. haha… I believe NY allows you to get an ‘enhanced’ driver’s license that will work as well, but not so much of an option for us Texans. *sadface*
Ontario/Niagara Falls is totally my old stomping ground, so if you take that road trip I want to go, too! We can see the Falls, go to Niagara-on-the-Lake, Old Fort Niagara, Clifton Hill, go to Toronto… so many awesome things….
Anyways, thank you so much Renny and Rose for having me on! And “Ravens in the Library” is amazing. Adding that to my list of favorite songs ever….possibly making it my theme song and playing it every time I walk into a room… wearing a cape… with a fan to make the cape flutter… SUPER LIBRARIAN! *ahem*
It was tons of fun doing this episode with you! You girls do a fantastic job and when I listen to Shhhh! There are Pagans in Texas! I always feel like I am hanging out with two of my best friends/sisters/coven mates… probably because I am… lol…
Lots of love to you both, and I can’t wait for April’s episode! Now, carry on!

Hey ladies fabu episode! I totally think you should have a part two of the male Wiccan topic and wrangle your husbands into an interview! It was an interesting discussion y’all had over the subject. I found it funny how Renny had mentioned the idea of a gay coven being mostly men because that’s exactly how mine is, lol. We have one female member but we treat each other equally, if anyone has any ideas we all pay attention.
I think a road trip to Canada sounds awesome! I’ve been wanting to do one myself for a couple of years now. I would definitely need a passport though, you know how the U.S. government feels about Mexicans without passports. lol
I think a meet and greet is an awesome idea! Of course I’ve already met y’all at Pagan Pride, but it would be nice to see y’all again and fellow listeners. You could do it like at Dave and Busters or Main Event.
Here’s a TMI question for ya: Now we all know most of the movies that portray witches and our craft tend to be ridiculous, but if you had to chose a favorite witchy movie what would it be?
And I’ll end with a topic suggestion: Being GLBT and pagan, how do gays fit into paganism?
Much love and blessed be!

Regular Question: For someone starting down the path of wicca/paganism, who can’t really get any supplies (Books, Supplies(Incense, Candles, Ect), what do you recommend?

Hey there! Supplies are not necessary. Your intent and you are the biggest tool you have. If you can’t get books to read, use the internet: Reputable sites, good blogs, podcasts, forums, discussions, etc. Check our calendar for local events. Also, if you are under eighteen, also check with your parents. (I say that for legal disclaimer purposes.) You don’t have to have any information to discover your path! Keep a journal and write. What are your views on Karma? The three fold law? The Wiccan Rede? How does paganism play into your life? What are some daily practices you can incorporate to recognize your deities? Find out your path and a lot about yourself, because the point of any path is to become a better person, but how you do that is up to you.
Blessed Be!

Renny and Rose,
I enjoyed your most recent Episode #9 and wanted to comment on your discussion on men and Wicca.
In 18 years of Pagan practice (the last 8 of which have been rather public) I’ve only been made to feel unwelcome because of my gender one time – and that was in 1994. Maybe that’s because I’m a Druid and a UU Pagan and not a Wiccan, but I think it’s more that our Pagan community is growing up and doing a better job of seeing people as individuals and not as stereotypes.
It also helps that we’ve become more balanced in our views of Deity. When I first began exploring Paganism, there was still a lot of talk about “Goddess religion” and “Goddess spirituality”. This was in large part a reaction to the male-dominated mainstream religions. Current Paganism, though, is more about who we are instead of who we aren’t, and today I usually hear Pagans speak of “Goddess AND God”. Hard polytheism is also growing, and viewing Deity as many goddesses and gods inherently promotes gender balance.
It matters what we believe.
Thanks for show – keep up the good work.

greetings Ladies!
Thank you for mentioning The Wigglian Way on your show. I have only just found your show and am enjoying it immensely. I was going to wait until I was caught up before writing, but when I heard my name, I had to write right away.
Did you make it up here this summer? I am getting ready to go to Salem in a few days….
Canadian Male Wiccans do have it better, but it’s only because of the Canadian Female Wiccans.
Thanks for putting out a great show!

Hello Mojo!
We love The Wigglian Way, and it was our pleasure to mention you guys. Unfortunately, we never made it up there due to preparation for moving, home repair, and the general craziness of Texas summer heat jacking with my car. Renny and I talked about doing the PPSM, but that was too close the the beginning of school that we couldn’t. Hopefully, we will be able to put in our time for next year. =D
It’s good to know that Canadian male Wiccans have it better. We are trying to make this community more male positive, and I think getting it out in the open and talking about it is the first step.
Thanks for writing and thanks for listening!
Always the best,

A little late here, but as far as books, I wanted to mention my favorite author: M.R. Sellars. He writes a fantastic series called the Rowan Gant Investigations and they are totally marinated in awesome sauce! He’s also just coming out with a new series based off one of the characters from RGI, Constance Mandalay. Here’s a blurb on the books:
~~~~~
About The Rowan Gant Investigations
Just Imagine… It’s 2:17 AM.
You’ve only slept 4 hours out of the past 48. You have a blinding headache that would make a migraine seem like a pleasant distraction. On top of that, the handful of aspirin you took for it 30 minutes ago is making your stomach churn in a very unpleasant way.
Now, just imagine that even with all of that making your life a living hell, it doesn’t end there. Instead of being at home where you can suffer in private, you are on the opposite side of town, standing smack dab in the middle of a disgustingly brutal crime scene—the third in as many days.
Cops and evidence techs are watching with jaded expressions as you literally channel the final moments of the murder victim’s life through your own mind and body, right before their eyes.
The horror… The fear… The pain…
You see and feel it all, as if your own isn’t already enough…
And, by the way, even though the cops asked you to be here, most of them think you belong in an institution, specifically one that is outfitted with padded walls.
Yeah, I know… It sounds like some kind of nightmare, doesn’t it? Well, welcome to my world. Be glad you aren’t me because this curse that is my life doesn’t stop at being a nightmare.
No. It is all too real…
My name is Rowan Gant, and I’m the unofficial Witch for the Greater Saint Louis Major Case Squad.
I’d quit the job, but the dead won’t let me…
Totally cool books written by a really super nice guy. I can’t say enough good things about them.
